Hello! I just wanted to send a quick note saying that I know the link
to "dvn-alpha" I sent earlier is now broken. This is because we have
re-purposed this server for testing a new version of Dataverse we're
working on.
You can read all about the new version here:
Major Dataverse Release Coming Soon (Goodbye 3.6.x; Hello 4.0!) -
http://thedata.org/blog/major-dataverse-release-coming-spring-2014
I apologize for the inconvenience. I've been working a lot on new
search features for 4.0 and then plan to work on new API features but
I plan to return to working on Shibboleth after that.

Hello!
Does your institution run a Shibboleth/SAML Identity Provider (IdP)
that you may want to someday use with DVN?
Before the DVN dev team settles on OIOSAML as an underlying technology
within DVN, I'd like to make sure that OIOSAML is compatible with the
Identity Providers of various institutions that use (or will use) DVN.
Compatibility testing will take place on a server called "dvn-alpha"
and I wrote an intro page here:
https://dvn-alpha.hmdc.harvard.edu/dvn/faces/login/SamlTestIntro.xhtml
Right now, dvn-alpha is configured to use the Identity Provider at
http://testshib.org so if you click through to the SamlTestPage you'll
see TestShib attributes like this:
urn:oid:1.3.6.1.4.1.5923.1.1.1.6/myself@testshib.org
I'll attach a screenshot to show the other attributes I'm printing
from TestShib.
That's really all I want to test as this point... that this
experimental DVN code* can print the attributes that have been sent by
various Identity Providers. If so, I'll feel comfortable moving
forward with OIOSAML.
If you aren't the person who runs your institution's Identity
Provider, please forward this message to the appropriate people so
they can check out the intro page and get in touch with me.
Thanks!
Phil

p.s. Many thanks for the code from Universiteit Utrecht which was very
helpful in getting this test code working. For more background on
their working Shibboleth implementation, please see
