Chris Perry requested and I helped configure up a new mailing list:
http://lists.iq.harvard.edu/mailman/listinfo/techtalkfollowup
I configured the archives to be public...
http://lists.iq.harvard.edu/pipermail/techtalkfollowup
... because I'm a fan of
http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2007/05/maximizing-the-value-of-your-keyst…
Also, I made the list of subscribers public...
https://lists.iq.harvard.edu/mailman/roster/techtalkfollowup
... because I like being able to easily check to whom I'm about to
send a message.
As I mentioned at today's Tech Talk*, I've gotting into IRC in the
last year or two and I'm starting to experiment with having public
meetings over IRC (i.e.
http://irclog.iq.harvard.edu/dvn/2013-02-13 )
and I'd be happy to register and set up #iqss if there is interest.
Other channels we could use include a Google+ community and a chat
room over Jabber/XMPP. I default to public but perhaps some of the
channels could be private. Everything should be opt-in. People should
feel free to come and go as they please.
Happy hacking!
Phil
